Antasim Mint Suspension belongs to a group of medicines called antacids. It treats acidity, heartburn, indigestion, gastritis (stomach inflammation), and stomach upset. The stomach is usually protected from the acid by a mucous layer. In some cases, excess acid production erodes the mucous layer, leading to complications like acidity and heartburn.

Antasim Mint Suspension is a combination medicine containing dried aluminium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, and simethicone. Dried aluminium hydroxide, and magnesium hydroxide work by neutralizing excess stomach acid. Simethicone decreases the surface tension of gas bubbles, thereby facilitating gas expulsion through flatus or belching (burping). Together, Antasim Mint Suspension relieves acidity, heartburn, indigestion, gastritis (stomach inflammation), and stomach upset.

Antasim Mint Suspension should be taken as prescribed by your doctor. Sometimes, Antasim Mint Suspension may cause common side effects such as constipation, diarrhoea, loss of appetite, and tiredness. No, It is always recommended to avoid lying down immediately after eating meals to prevent acidity. Try to do a 10-15 minutes walk. Raise the head of the bed 10-20 cm by putting on a pillow so that the head and chest are above the waist. This prevents acid reflux.

Diarrhoea might be a side effect of Antasim Mint Suspension . Drink lots of fluids and eat non-spicy food if you experience diarrhoea. If you find blood in stools (tarry stools) or if you experience severe diarrhea, consult your doctor. Do not take anti-diarrheal medicine on your own.
