Amirid Tablet is used to treat amoebic dysentery, mixed intestinal infections, and associated stomach discomfort or bloating. The detailed uses of Amirid Tablet are as follows:

• Amoebic dysentery: Amirid Tablet helps clear severe intestinal infections caused by amoeba parasites, relieving painful stomach cramps and loose stools.
• Mixed intestinal infections: It acts against multiple types of gut micro-organisms simultaneously to resolve complex bacterial and parasitic infections of the digestive tract.
• Abdominal flatulence and bloating: It relieves the pressure, gas buildup, and painful bloating that frequently accompany intestinal infections.

• Take Amirid Tablet with or without food as advised by your doctor.
• Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication.
• Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water.
• Do not crush, chew or break it.

• Drink plenty of fluids, such as clean drinking water, oral rehydration solutions (ORS), or clear broths, to replace fluids lost from diarrhoea and prevent dehydration.
• Eat bland, easily digestible foods like bananas, rice, applesauce, and plain toast while your gut recovers.
  Avoid dairy products, spicy, greasy, or highly seasoned foods, and high-fibre foods temporarily, as these can irritate an already inflamed digestive tract.
• Practise strict personal hygiene, including washing your hands thoroughly with soap and water before eating and after using the restroom, to prevent reinfection.
• Ensure all drinking water is boiled or properly filtered, and avoid raw or undercooked street foods during your recovery period.

• Do not drink alcohol during your treatment with Amirid Tablet and for at least 72 hours after your final dose to avoid severe stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, headaches, and rapid heart rate.
• Check the packaging carefully before use; do not take the medication if the blister foil is torn, damaged, or shows signs of tampering.
• Avoid driving, operating machinery, or performing tasks that require mental alertness if this medication makes you feel dizzy or lightheaded.
• Inform your doctor immediately if you develop any unusual neurological symptoms, such as numbness, tingling in your limbs, or shakiness.
• Always complete the entire course of therapy prescribed by your healthcare provider, even if your symptoms resolve after a couple of days, to prevent the infection from returning.
