Your doctor may prescribe this medicine to treat the following conditions:

• Open-angle glaucoma: Lowers increased pressure inside the eye to help prevent progressive optic nerve damage and vision loss.
• Ocular hypertension: Reduces abnormally high eye pressure in people who have not yet developed glaucoma, helping lower the risk of future optic nerve damage.

• Alphagan Z Opthalmic Solution 5 ml is for ophthalmic (for eye) use only.
• It is recommended to apply one drop of Alphagan Z Opthalmic Solution 5 ml 3 times daily or as advised by your doctor.
• Check the label for directions before using this medication.
• Lie down and tilt your head backwards. Gently pull your lower eyelid with your index finger to form a pocket. Instil the prescribed number of drops into the pocket. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes.
• Replace the cap tightly after each use.
• Avoid touching the container tip to the eye or eyelids to prevent contamination.

• Manage your fluid intake: Drink water regularly throughout the day instead of consuming large amounts at once, as this may help avoid temporary increases in eye pressure.
• Limit caffeine intake: Reduce excessive consumption of coffee, tea, cola, and energy drinks, as high caffeine intake may temporarily raise pressure inside the eyes.
• Eat an eye-healthy diet: Include leafy green vegetables, colourful fruits, nuts, and fish rich in omega-3 fatty acids to support overall eye and optic nerve health.
• Exercise regularly and safely: Moderate aerobic activities such as walking can support overall eye health. Avoid prolonged head-down positions or exercises that significantly increase pressure inside the eyes if advised by your doctor.

Keep the bottle tightly closed in its original packaging to protect it from light and contamination.

• Check the solution before use: Do not use the eye drops if the liquid is cloudy, discoloured, contains visible particles, or if the bottle seal is broken.
• Remove contact lenses: Take out soft contact lenses before applying Alphagan Z Opthalmic Solution 5 ml and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them.
• Prevent contamination: Do not allow the dropper tip to touch your eye, eyelids, fingers, or any other surface.
• Use caution when driving: Wait until any temporary blurred vision or drowsiness has completely resolved before driving or operating machinery.
• Separate other eye medicines: If you use additional eye drops, wait at least 5 to 10 minutes between each medication unless your doctor advises otherwise.
