Albetrue 400 mg Tablet is used to treat parasitic worm infections like neurocysticercosis (infection caused by pork tapeworm) and cystic hydatid disease (infection caused by dog tapeworm). It is also used to treat infections caused by roundworms, hookworms, threadworms, whipworms, pinworms, flukes, and other parasites. Additionally, it is used to treat giardiasis (an intestinal parasitic infection caused by Giardia lamblia) in children over 2 years of age. It contains Albendazole, which causes metabolic disruption and energy depletion in the parasite, leading to its immobilisation. Thereby, kills the susceptible helminth and treats the infection. In some cases, it may cause certain common side effects, such as stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, headache, dry mouth, and dizziness. Albetrue 400 mg Tablet contains albendazole, an antiparasitic medication that works by blocking worms from absorbing sugar (glucose), which is their primary source of energy.
