Alaspan AM Tablet is used in the treatment of cough and allergy-related symptoms. The detailed uses of Alaspan AM Tablet are as follows:

• Treats Cough with Mucus (Wet/Productive Cough): Ambroxol in Alaspan AM Tablet helps loosen and thin phlegm (mucus) in the lungs, windpipe, and nose, making it easier to expel through coughing.
• Relieves Allergic Respiratory Symptoms: Loratadine in Alaspan AM Tablet blocks the action of histamine (a chemical responsible for causing allergic reactions) and helps relieve symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy or watery eyes, and throat irritation.
• Eases Breathing in Congestion: By clearing mucus and reducing allergy symptoms, Alaspan AM Tablet helps improve airflow and ease breathing in conditions with chest or nasal congestion.

Alaspan AM Tablet is a combination drug containing 'mucolytic agents' (cough/sputum thinner) primarily used to treat cough. It contains Ambroxol and Loratadine. Ambroxol works by thinning and loosening phlegm (mucus) in the lungs, windpipe, and nose. It also breaks down the acid mucopolysaccharide fibres that make the mucous (sputum) thinner and less dense/viscous, removing sputum efficiently by coughing. However, the viscosity of sputum remains low for as long as treatment is maintained. Loratadine acts by blocking histamine's action (chemicals causing allergic symptoms) and reducing the allergic reaction. It provides quick relief from allergic symptoms like sneezing, running nose, or throat irritation.

• Take Alaspan AM Tablet with or without food or as advised by a doctor.
• Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication, to ensure the safety.
• Swallow the medicine as a whole with glass of water.
• Do not crush, break, or chew it.

• Stay hydrated as it is vital for those with a cough or cold. Drinking liquids at room temperature can alleviate runny nose and sneezing.

Inform your doctor before starting Alaspan AM Tablet if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, and breastfeeding. Do not take alcohol as it may increase the risk of side-effects. There have been reports of severe skin allergic reactions with Alaspan AM Tablet , so if you develop a skin rash, immediately stop using Alaspan AM Tablet and contact your doctor immediately.
