About Acyclo-Care Eye Ointment 5gm

Acyclo-Care Eye Ointment 5gm belongs to the class of 'antivirals' used to treat eye/ocular herpes and herpes simplex keratitis. Eye/ocular herpes is an eye infection caused by the herpes simplex virus. Herpes simplex keratitis is an eye infection caused when the herpes simplex virus affects the cornea (clear front surface of the eye).

Acyclo-Care Eye Ointment 5gm contains Aciclovir, which works by killing and stopping the growth of the herpes simplex virus on the cornea. Thereby treats eye/ocular herpes and herpes simplex keratitis

Acyclo-Care Eye Ointment 5gm is for ophthalmic (for the eye) use only. Common side effects of Acyclo-Care Eye Ointment 5gm include eye irritation, burning or a stinging sensation at the application site, temporary blurred vision, sensitivity to the light, swollen and runny eyes, inflammation of the eyelids, and foreign body sensation. These side effects may not occur in every patient using Acyclo-Care Eye Ointment 5gm and gradually resolve over time if they occur. If the side effects persist longer or worsen, please seek a doctor's advice.

It helps reduce symptoms such as eye pain, blurred vision and redness.<br/>• Prevention of Recurrence in Herpes Simplex Infections: Acyclo-Care Eye Ointment 5gm may be used to prevent Herpes Simplex Infections recurrence, particularly in people with a history of repeated flare-ups.<br/>• Post-Surgical Infection Prevention: Acyclo-Care Eye Ointment 5gm may be used to prevent viral infections in individuals at high risk for herpes simplex virus infections after certain eye surgeries.<br/>

Directions for Use

  • Wash your hands thoroughly before applying Acyclo-Care Eye Ointment 5gm to your eye to avoid contamination.
  • Lie down and tilt your head backwards. Pull your lower eyelid gently with your index finger to form a pocket. Squeeze a tiny amount of the cream/ointment into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes.
  • Acyclo-Care Eye Ointment 5gm is for ophthalmic use only.
  • Do not touch the tip of the tube or other dispensing tip to any surface since this may contaminate ointment.
  • If ointment becomes discolored, it should be discarded.

  • Avoid wearing contact lens until you feel better; use spectacles instead.
  • Do not rub the eyes.

Use Acyclo-Care Eye Ointment 5gm as prescribed by your doctor. Overdose may cause hives, itching, rash, and swelling of the eyes, face, lips, mouth, throat, or tongue, new or worsening red, watery eyes, eye sensitivity to light, blurred vision, or pain around the eye. Seek immediate medical help if an overdose is suspected.
