About Abdome 1mg Oral Suspension

Abdome 1mg Oral Suspension is used to treat nausea (feeling sick) and vomiting (being sick) in adults and adolescents 12 years or older. Besides this, it also helps treat indigestion.

Abdome 1mg Oral Suspension contains domperidone, which prevents nausea and vomiting by blocking certain receptors (such as dopamine and serotonin) that stimulate the vomiting centre (chemoreceptor trigger zone – CTZ) in the brain. It also acts as a prokinetic agent, increasing the motility of the upper gastrointestinal tract and helping decrease stomach emptying time.

Take Abdome 1mg Oral Suspension as prescribed by your doctor. Symptoms of nausea and vomiting may usually resolve within 3-4 days after taking Abdome 1mg Oral Suspension. However, if it does not resolve even after this, stop taking this medicine and contact the doctor. Do not take Abdome 1mg Oral Suspension for longer than seven days. The most common side effect of Abdome 1mg Oral Suspension is dry mouth. This side effect is temporary and may resolve over time; however, if it persists, contact the doctor.

Do not take more than the prescribed dose of Abdome 1mg Oral Suspension as it may cause an overdose. The symptoms of overdose include uncontrolled movements, which include unusual eye movements, sleepiness, confusion, abnormal posture (such as a twisted neck) or unusual movements of the tongue. If you suspect you have taken an overdose or notice signs of overdose, please consult a doctor immediately.

  • Include more cool beverages with your food, such as clear soups, flavoured gelatin, and carbonated beverages. Also, when drinking with a straw, sip slowly to avoid swallowing air, which can lead to gas or acidity.
