In addition to this, it is also used to treat scabies (A contagious, intensely itchy skin condition caused by a tiny, burrowing mite), and pediculosis (A condition in which tiny insects infest the scalp). Cetrimide has antiseptic, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal properties. Cetrimide destroys or damages the cell membranes of bacteria; this eventually results in the death of bacteria.
