Leup-XL 22.5 mg Injection 1's contains Leuprorelin, a synthetic hormone that works similar to the natural hormone, gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) by acting on the pituitary gland and decreases the levels of testosterone in men and oestrogen in women. Thereby, Leup-XL 22.5 mg Injection 1's is used in the treatment of prostate cancer by inhibiting the growth of tumour or causing it to shrink.

Leup-XL 22.5 mg Injection 1's may stop menstrual periods. However, after 7 to 12 weeks of taking the final dose of injection, periods will resume. Please consult a doctor if you have any concerns regarding this.

Leup-XL 22.5 mg Injection 1's should be used with caution in diabetic patients as it may increase the risk of high blood sugar levels.
