Bactofix-XL Tablet 10's is a combination of two broad-spectrum antibiotics: Cefixime and Dicloxacillin that act against both aerobic (grow in the presence of oxygen) and anaerobic (grow in the absence of oxygen) gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria. Bactofix-XL Tablet 10's is used in the treatment of several bacterial infections. Bactofix-XL Tablet 10's interferes with the formation of the bacterial cell wall (a protective covering) that is necessary for their survival. Thereby damages the bacterial cell wall and kills bacteria.
Bactofix-XL Tablet 10's is used to treat bacterial infections of the urinary tract, ears, nose, throat, chest, and lungs.
Bactofix-XL Tablet 10's contains Cefixime and Dicloxacillin which work by interfering with the formation of the bacterial cell wall (a protective covering) that is necessary for their survival. Thereby damages the bacterial cell wall and kills bacteria.
Bactofix-XL Tablet 10's may be used to treat lung infection caused by bacteria. Bactofix-XL Tablet 10's is an antibiotic that kills bacteria and prevents the spread of infection. But should be used only when prescribed by a doctor.
Bactofix-XL Tablet 10's may cause diarrhoea as a common side effect. However, if the condition persists, worsens, or notices blood or mucus in stools, avoid taking Bactofix-XL Tablet 10's and consult a doctor immediately.
You are not recommended to take Bactofix-XL Tablet 10's with warfarin as co-administration of these two medicines may increase bleeding risk. However, please consult your doctor before taking Bactofix-XL Tablet 10's with other medicines.
Bactofix-XL Tablet 10's is not used to treat viral infections. Bactofix-XL Tablet 10's is an antibiotic which is used to treat only bacterial infections.
You are not recommended to stop taking Bactofix-XL Tablet 10's without consulting your doctor as it may worsen the infection or cause recurring symptoms. Therefore, take Bactofix-XL Tablet 10's for as long as your doctor has prescribed it, and if you experience any difficulty while taking Bactofix-XL Tablet 10's, please consult your doctor.
Dicloxacillin may reduce the effectiveness of birth control pills. Therefore, discuss with your doctor about other contraceptive methods such as using non-hormonal birth control measures such as condom, spermicide or diaphragm to avoid pregnancy while taking Bactofix-XL Tablet 10's.
Bactofix-XL Tablet 10's usually starts working within a few hours, but noticeable symptom improvement may take up to a few days which varies from person to person based on health condition. Always follow the doctor's advice to have optimal results.
