I have a fever and am taking Fepanil syrup, but it only gives relief for a short time, and then the fever comes back. Why is this happening, and how can I better control it?

Fever often comes in waves, especially when it is caused by a viral or bacterial infection. You may notice that your temperature drops after taking Fepanil, but rises again a few hours later. This happens because the medicine mainly reduces the fever temporarily, but it does not treat the underlying cause. Fepanil (paracetamol) works by lowering body temperature and relieving discomfort, but its effects usually last only briefly. Once the effect wears off, the fever can recur until your body clears the infection. This pattern is quite common, especially in the first few days of illness, and does not always mean the medicine is not working. To manage this better, make sure you take the medicine at the correct dose and time, only as advised by your doctor. Stay well hydrated, take enough rest, and wear light clothing. You can also use lukewarm sponging if the fever is high. If the fever lasts more than a few days, becomes very high, or is accompanied by symptoms such as severe weakness, vomiting, or breathing difficulty, it is important to get checked for the exact cause.
