A temperature of 101.4°F is considered a mild fever. Since you have already given Centamol (Paracetamol), it should begin to lower the fever within 30 to 60 minutes. There is no need to repeat the dose immediately. Paracetamol can usually be given every 4 to 6 hours if required, but should not be given more than 4 times a day. At home, make sure your daughter drinks plenty of fluids such as water, soups, or oral rehydration solution to help prevent dehydration. Dress her in light and comfortable clothing and let her rest in a cool, well-ventilated room. Avoid wrapping her in heavy blankets, as this can worsen the fever. A recurring fever every few months is often seen with repeated viral infections, especially in school-going children, but it is still worth keeping an eye on the pattern. If it keeps happening, please consult your doctor or paediatrician to rule out any serious underlying conditions. Seek medical attention if the fever lasts more than 3 days, if she becomes very drowsy, or has breathing difficulty.
