I want to know the treatment for chikungunya. What should I do to recover faster?

Asked by Female, 24 ยท 1 month ago

Chikungunya commonly causes high fever, severe body pain, joint pain, weakness, headache, rash, and tiredness after infection through mosquito bites. Joint pain and weakness may continue for several weeks or even months in some people, especially in the wrists, ankles, knees, and fingers. Recovery mainly depends on rest, hydration, fever control, and reducing joint inflammation while the body gradually clears the viral infection. Medicines such as Paracetamol are commonly used to help reduce fever and body pain. Drinking plenty of fluids, coconut water, soups, and oral rehydration fluids may help prevent dehydration and weakness. Light nutritious meals, proper sleep, gentle stretching and gradual physical activity may help to improve stiffness and energy over time. Mosquito protection is also important to prevent further spread of infection. Avoid self-using strong painkillers without medical advice, especially during the early stage, because some infections like dengue can have similar symptoms and may increase bleeding risk. Seek medical care if severe dehydration, breathing difficulty, confusion, persistent vomiting, chest pain, or worsening weakness develop.
