I have continuous diarrhoea along with vomiting and frequent loose motions. How should it be treated?

Continuous diarrhoea with vomiting and frequent loose motions is commonly caused by stomach infection, food poisoning, contaminated food or water, viral illness, or indigestion. The most important part of treatment is preventing dehydration because the body loses a lot of water and salts during repeated vomiting and loose stools. Drink plenty of fluids in small amounts again and again, such as clean water, coconut water, rice water, lemon water with salt and sugar, or ORS (oral rehydration solution), which is very helpful in replacing lost fluids and minerals. Eat light and easy-to-digest foods like rice, curd, bananas, toast, khichdi, boiled potatoes, or soup, and avoid oily, spicy, junk, or outside food until recovery. It is better to rest well and avoid heavy meals. Do not take antibiotics or anti-diarrhoea medicines on your own because not all cases need them, and some medicines may worsen the condition. If vomiting is severe, fluids cannot be kept down, there is high fever, blood in stool, severe stomach pain, dizziness, reduced urination, extreme weakness, or symptoms continue for more than one or two days, you should consult a doctor immediately because dehydration can become serious, especially in children and older adults. In many mild cases, proper hydration, rest, and simple food care help the body recover within a few days.
