My fever is not responding to paracetamol. What alternative medicine should I take?

If paracetamol is not lowering your fever, Ibuprofen (an NSAID) is a common alternative, typically taken as 400mg every 4 to 6 hours with food. Do not take ibuprofen if you have asthma, kidney issues, stomach ulcers, or are pregnant. Ensure you are taking the correct dose of paracetamol (up to 1g every 6 hours, max 4g daily). Avoid taking other over-the-counter cold medicines that might also contain paracetamol. If your fever persists for more than three days, exceeds 103?F (39.4?C), or is accompanied by a stiff neck, breathing difficulties, or severe headache, please consult a doctor immediately.
